Today marks the 28th anniversary of the release of the Kamal Haasan starrer Indian. Which was his first-ever collaboration with Shankar. The makers of the sequel Indian 2, released a special tribute video to commemorate the occasion. The video features a glimpse of Kamal Haasan receiving the National Award for his role in the original movie. It also showcases some accolades of the cult classic film. Anirudh Ravichander has composed an intense background score to accompany the visuals.

Indian, a critically acclaimed movie, was widely appreciated by audiences and made a significant impact in India. It narrates the story of Senapathy, a former freedom fighter who becomes a vigilante under the name of Indian, to avenge the corruption in the government system. The film ends with Senapathy escaping to Hong Kong from the police’s hands with a promise to return if corruption rises again.
Indian 2 is a direct sequel to the story of Indian, featuring Haasan in the lead role. It marks his return to India as corruption once again is on the rise. The movie includes an ensemble cast of actors such as Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, and many more in pivotal roles. The movie is speculated to be released in July, although it was initially scheduled to release in June.
