Kalki 2898 AD” is set to hit the big screens on June 27. Abhishek Bachchan, ever the supportive son, took to social media on Monday to promote the trailer release of his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming film.
In this mythological sci-fi project directed by Nag Ashwin, Amitabh Bachchan stars as Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya. The poster shared by Abhishek features an intense showdown between a man and a group of people, with the text “Trailer out now” displayed prominently. In his caption, Abhishek described the trailer as “mindblowing!!!!” and tagged the cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, director Nag Ashwin, and the production house Vyjayanthi Movies.

If you missed it, the trailer of “Kalki 2898 AD” is a visual feast. It opens in a dystopian Kaashi, known as the last city on Earth, where people are desperately seeking basic necessities like water, food, and shelter. The city is ruled by a king (played by Saswata Chatterjee) who has his eyes set on a pregnant woman (played by Deepika Padukone).
Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama, informs Deepika’s character that she is carrying something divine that the king covets. Enter Prabhas as Bhairava, a warrior who claims he never loses a fight. The question remains: will he be able to protect the pregnant woman? The trailer also showcases Kamal Haasan in a never-before-seen avatar.
