The question came in light of the recent fallout between director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actress Deepika Padukone, who exited his film Spirit. Reportedly, Deepika had requested a 6-hour working day to accommodate her role as a new mother—something the filmmaker did not take kindly to.
Speaking on the matter, Kajol reiterated her backing for shorter workdays for women with young children. Ajay Devgn commented, “It’s not a question of opposition. Most sensible directors understand the need for flexibility. The 8-hour shift isn’t just being requested by new mothers—it’s becoming common across the board.
