Vishnu Manchu’s “Kannappa” Expands Star-Studded Cast with Addition of Akshay Kumar
The cast list of Mukesh Kumar Singh’s Vishnu Manchu-starrer “Kannappa” is witnessing further expansion with the latest addition of actor Akshay Kumar to the fantasy drama based on mythology, revolving around the titular devotee of Lord Shiva. This marks Akshay Kumar’s debut in Tollywood.

Industry tracker Ramesh Bala announced the news, stating, “Bollywood Superstar @akshaykumar joins the cast of Prestigious Pan-India Biggie – Actor @iVishnuManchu’s Big Budget movie #Kannappa.” Akshay Kumar’s involvement adds to the already star-studded ensemble, which includes Prabhas, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Madhoo, Sarathkumar, Prabhu Deva, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Kaushal Manda, and others.
“Kannappa” is a dream project for Vishnu, with Mohan producing it under AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory. Shot in Telugu, the film will be dubbed into other South Indian languages and Hindi.
Despite initial casting changes, with Kajal Aggarwal and later Nupur Sanon stepping down, the film continues its production journey with Preity Mukhundhan now on board. So far, shooting has taken place in New Zealand and Hyderabad.
