Anupama Parameswaran Lodges Cyber Complaint After Facing Online Harassment
Actress Anupama Parameswaran has officially filed a complaint with the Kerala Cyber Crime Police after being subjected to a series of online attacks. The actress revealed that several fake social media accounts were created to spread morphed photos and false claims about her, her family, and close friends from the film industry.
In a heartfelt note shared on Instagram, Anupama explained that she became aware of the issue a few days ago when she came across a fake account posting inappropriate and fabricated content about her. “The posts carried morphed images and baseless accusations. It was painful and disturbing to see such targeted hate,” she expressed.
The investigation led by the cybercrime authorities identified a 20-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu as the person behind these fake accounts. Despite this, Anupama decided not to disclose the young woman’s identity, saying, “I do not want to affect her future or mental peace.”

The actress confirmed that legal procedures are ongoing and urged people to use social media responsibly. “Having a phone or a social media account doesn’t give anyone the right to harass or defame others. Every online act is traceable, and justice will take its course,” she wrote.
Anupama also spoke about the emotional toll of cyberbullying and emphasized the importance of understanding cyber laws. “Being an actor doesn’t mean one should tolerate abuse. Cyber harassment is a serious offence,” she added.
On the work front, Anupama has had a busy year in 2025 with several successful releases, including Dragon, Paradha, Kishkindhapuri, JSK, The Pet Detective, and Bison. She will next appear in the Tamil movie Lockdown.
