Bhoomi Shetty Stuns as Mahakali in Prasanth Varma’s Next Superhero Epic
A year after the massive success of Hanu-Man, filmmaker Prasanth Varma teased fans with news of a female superhero project titled Mahakali. As a part of his expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). The project, directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, has now taken a major leap forward with the grand reveal of its lead actress.
The makers have unveiled the first look of Mahakali, introducing Kingdom actress Bhoomi Shetty as the fierce and powerful Maha. Her intense and commanding appearance has created a huge buzz, giving a glimpse of the film’s bold tone and scale. Bhoomi, known for her strong performances in Kannada cinema and her role as Satya Dev’s wife in Kingdom. Seems set to deliver a dynamic performance in this superhero saga.

Joining her is Akshaye Khanna, who impressed audiences with Chhaava, now stepping into the role of the mysterious Shukracharya. The film’s story unfolds against the backdrop of West Bengal, promising an intriguing blend of mythology, power, and emotion.
Mahakali is written by Prasanth Varma and bankrolled by RK Dug and Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios. The music is composed by Smaran Sai, adding to the film’s grand vision. With over 50% of the shoot completed, major portions are currently being filmed on a massive custom-built set in Hyderabad.
Interestingly, the new poster does not mention the earlier buzz about an IMAX 3D release or multi-language versions, leaving fans curious about what’s next. One thing is certain—Mahakali is shaping up to be another visually stunning and emotionally charged addition to Prasanth Varma’s cinematic universe.
