Chiranjeevi Sets Guinness World Record as India’s Most Prolific Film Star
Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, and BRS Working President K T Rama Rao were among the prominent figures who extended their congratulations to Chiranjeevi for his remarkable achievement.
Megastar K Chiranjeevi was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records on Sunday as the most prolific actor/dancer in the Indian film industry. The certificate, presented during a special event, honored him for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
The Guinness World Records certificate read, “The most prolific film star in Indian Film Industry—actor/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi, also known as Mega Star (India), achieved on 20 September 2024.” Chiranjeevi expressed his heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the honor, stating, “This is an unforgettable moment. I never sought Guinness recognition, but to be acknowledged for my dancing feels incredible. Dance has been a pivotal part of my career, shaping my journey and bringing me countless rewards.”
Reflecting on his career, Chiranjeevi added, “Dance has been ingrained in my life throughout my 45-year film career. I still vividly recall my first on-screen dance steps and performing in front of legends like Savitri. I owe this recognition to the directors, producers, music directors, and choreographers who highlighted my dance skills in every project.”
According to sources close to Chiranjeevi, he has performed 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across his 156 films. They also pointed out that September 22 marks the anniversary of Chiranjeevi’s cinematic debut, which took place in 1978.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Stenning praised Chiranjeevi’s contribution. Saying, “After reviewing all 156 films and dance performances, this achievement is truly remarkable.” Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who shared the stage with Chiranjeevi. Expressed his admiration for the actor, stating, “I consider him an elder brother. I’m thrilled that Chiranjeevi Garu is being honored in this way. If you watch him in any song, you’ll see how much heart and passion he brings to every performance.”
Leaders from across the political spectrum, including Telangana’s Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh’s Chandrababu Naidu, and Union Minister Kishan Reddy, took to social media to congratulate Chiranjeevi. Revanth Reddy, in a post on ‘X’, remarked, “It’s a proud moment for the Telugu community that Chiranjeevi has been recognized by the Guinness World Records.” Kishan Reddy echoed this sentiment, writing, “Megastar for a reason! Congratulations to Chiranjeevi Garu for being recognized as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Cinema. His achievement of 24,000 dance moves across 537 songs in 156 films over 45 years is truly iconic.”
Chandrababu Naidu also shared his congratulations on ‘X’, saying, “Heartiest congratulations to Mega Star and Padma Vibhushan awardee @KChiruTweets Garu for his Guinness World Record recognition. His immense contribution to Telugu cinema and his grace as an artist have elevated the pride of Telugu people worldwide.”
Chiranjeevi, a stalwart of South Indian cinema, has starred in over 150 films across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages. Some of his iconic films include “Rudra Veena,” “Indra,” “Tagore,” “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,” and “Gang Leader.” Earlier this year, he was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema, alongside legendary actress Vyjayanthimala.
