DSP meets Ilaiyaraaja – ‘A fan boy moment”
Ilaiyaraaja is no doubt one of the most celebrated composers who is celebrated by generations equally. While the composer, Ilaiyaraaja is certainly one of the most talented composers in Indian cinema, the latest to have a fan-boy moment was composer and singer Devi Sri Prasad.
DSP who recently met Ilaiyaraaja and captured a heartfelt note, as he called meeting the man himself was his “lifetime dream” coming true at that moment.

Ilaiyaraaja met Devi Sri Prasad at his studio and gave him his blessings. Devi Sri Prasad penned a heartfelt note, “As a little kid, even before I knew what music was all about, this maestro Ilaignani Ilayaraja sir’s music cast a magical spell on me. I grew up with his music always around me, even when I was studying for my exams. So inseparable I was, I am and I will be from his music.”
He also mentioned how he built his studio, and he installed a photo frame of Ilaiyaraaja and dreamt of taking a picture of it along with him on the side, DSP also posted a picture of himself along with Ilaiyaraaja.
Devi Sri Prasad has thanked Ilaiyaraaja for his blessings and every filmmaker, actor, and music label he has worked with so far. He took Ilaiyaraaja’s blessing after he won the National Film Award for Pushpa.
DSP won a Nation Film Award for the film Pushpa for Best Music Direction and has also worked in Telugu and Tamil film industries. He is currently working on Pushpa 2 as of now.
