Madhavi Latha surrounded herself with much criticism when she removed Muslim women’s veils on polling day. Was defended by the Praveen Chikkoti on Wednesday trying to justify the action done by his Lok Sabha candidate.
Praveen said, “The AIMIM is sending burqa-clad women to polling stations to cast bogus votes. Being a contesting candidate, what Madhavi Latha did was right,” said Chikkoti Praveen.

On the polling day, May 13, media and people from social media hugely criticized the BJP Lok Sabha candidate. Madhavi Latha when videos of her asking Muslim women to lift their veils for identification of the voter ID, surfaced.
The candidate and the BJP faced a lot of backlash for this and she was also booked by the police for her actions.
Whereas, when asked about his campaign Praveen said, he could not concentrate on Hyderabad campaign because he was busy elsewhere. He also said, “AIMIM with the help of officials did rigging at many booths. The Congress and BRS party are supportive of the AIMIM for running their government and they should be ashamed of it.”
Praveen, widely known as the “Casino King,” joined the BJP six months ago amid great fanfare. On Wednesday, the BJP leader confidently declared that his party will win the Lok Sabha elections with a majority and return to power.
