In the village of Kovvuru, Lankala Ratnam (Vishwak Sen)
dreams of becoming successful and joins MLA Dorasami Raju’s (Goparaju Ramana)
group. Later, he switches sides to Nanaji’s (Nasser) group and becomes an MLA.
However, his methods make enemies. He transforms into Tiger Ratnakar and faces
challenges along the way. How did Ratnakar survive the situation? Who is Bujji
(played by Neha Shetty), and what is her relationship with Ratnakar? What
Ratnakar does next is the story we need to see unfold on the big screen.
Why to Watch:
Gangs Of Godavari Review
Vishwak Sen is convincing as a gangster politician! A gangster who’s torn between his family and profession is an arc.
we have seen for a long time. Hence, his character’s conflicts offer hardly
anything new. The role looks a little heavy on him, but the actor has tried his
best to pull it off. Anjali too does her bit and is adequate. Neha Shetty, who
plays his better half, is apt in the role of a concerned wife and a doting
mother.
WHERE TO WATCH:
In theatres near you.
ANYONE INTERESTED IN GANGSTAR DRAMA
+ (PLUS)
Vishwak Sen
The police station action scene, enhanced by Yuvan Shankar
Raja’s score, elevate the movie.
The sun-kissed warm tones of Anith Madadi’s cinematography
accentuate the brooding narrative.
_ (MINUS)
Rushed Screenplay
Editing
Second half
Weak conflict and Villain characterization
Neha Shetty’s character could have been developed more
effectively for a stronger narrative, and Anjali’s role could have been
expanded.
The director could have focused more on the emotional
sequences.
Verdict:
A half-baked rural action drama
Gangs of Godavari has enough murders, bloodshed, and action
sequences. But it doesn’t offer anything new.
