Ilaiyaraaja’s 81st Birthday: Dhanush unveils a new poster from his biopic
Actor Dhanush took to social media and shared a new special poster from his upcoming film, a biopic titled ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ on the maestro’s 81st birthday.
‘Ilaiyaraaja,’ Dhanush’s upcoming project is one of the most awaited films of the Tamil Film Industry. This movie has already created much buzz since it was first announced on March 20, 2024. Dhanush decided to treat his fans with a special poster on his birthday.
As we know, Ilaiyaraaja turned 81 on June 2, 2024. On this special day, actor Dhanush decided to share a new poster as a gift for his fans.
While, Dhanush took to social media, during the early hours of June 2, which happens to be the birthday of the man himself, with a caption, “Happy birthday to the one and only @ilaiyaraaja sir.”
The filmmakers also took to social media to share the same post and caption that said, “Happy Birthday to the one and only music maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja.”

So far, only Dhanush has been announced as the film’s lead. This project marks the second collaboration between Arun Matheswaran and Dhanush, following their work on “Captain Miller.” The film is a joint venture funded by Connekkt Media, Mercuri Movies, and PK Prime Production.
Sources suggest that Ilaiyaraaja will compose the soundtrack for the film. Although formal confirmation is pending, it is rumored that the biopic will highlight the achievements of the legendary music maestro, culminating in his receipt of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Dhanush is gearing up for his high-octane thriller “Raayan.” Which is expected to be one of his most captivating projects yet. The film features an impressive cast including S. J. Suryah, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Saravanan, and many others in significant roles. Directed by Dhanush himself, “Raayan” is produced by Kalanithi Maran. Under the Sun Pictures banner and is slated for a theatrical release on June 13, 2024.
