Jr NTR breaks silence on Devara’s box office collection
Jr NTR recently shared his thoughts on the reception of Devara and how moviegoers have become more critical. Released on September 27, Devara, starring Jr NTR, has performed well at the box office, amassing around Rs 253 crore net within 12 days, according to Sacnilk. However, the film hasn’t quite reached the commercial success of Jr NTR’s earlier blockbusters like RRR, receiving mixed reviews in comparison.
In a promotional interview, Jr NTR commented on the growing trend of over-analysis in the audience. He said, “As an audience, we’ve become increasingly negative. We no longer watch movies with the same innocent enjoyment as before.” He further explained that viewers now focus on analyzing films rather than simply enjoying them.

The RRR actor also shared that constant exposure to cinema may have led to this change. “We’re always judging, dissecting, and overthinking about films. Maybe it’s because we’re exposed to so much cinema these days,” Jr NTR remarked. He expressed concern that the joy of watching movies is being overshadowed by critical thinking.
Despite this, Jr NTR believes this phase might eventually pass. He said, “Maybe it’s just part of a cycle. It could reach a peak or already has, and things will balance out and return to how they used to be.”
In the same interview, he compared the audience to his children, who watch movies purely for fun, without any care for deeper analysis. This led him to reflect on why audiences have seemingly lost that simple joy of watching movies and whether constant cinematic exposure is responsible for this shift.
