Kalki Makes History as the First South Indian Film to Achieve This Milestone!
Rebel Star Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s visual spectacle ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is approaching the 1000 crore mark. In its third weekend, the film’s collections have been impacted by the release of ‘Indian 2’. However, trade pundits predict that ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will reach the 1000 crore milestone by the end of its theatrical run. Meanwhile, the film continues to break records in the North American market.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ opened to positive reviews, and the pre-release hype was unprecedented. The pre-sales alone set records abroad, leading to a strong performance during the first 10 days. The makers have officially released a poster announcing that the film has grossed over $17 million and counting.
The current gross stands at $17,031,645, with expectations of decent collections continuing through the weekend. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has become the first South Indian film to achieve this feat in North America, excluding ‘Baahubali 2’ due to its significant Hindi version earnings overseas.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has set a new non-Baahubali 2 record, much to the delight of fans. The film will have a second part, and fans are eager to see what happens next. Prabhas stars as Bhairava, while Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwatthama. Kamal Haasan takes on the role of Supreme Yashkin, the main villain, and Deepika Padukone plays Sumathi.
The film, produced by Ashwini Dutt with a budget of over 600 crores, features music by Santosh Narayanan. Director Nag Ashwin has revealed that approximately 60% of the story remains to be told in the second part, promising more drama and action.
