Actor Sahil Khan was arrested by the Mumbai police crime branch on Sunday in connection with the Mahadev Betting App case. The 47-year-old actor, known for his roles in comedy films like “Style” and “Excuse Me.” Was taken into custody at the Commissioner of Police’s office in Mumbai after being tracked down in Chhattisgarh.
Sources indicate that Khan had been on the run for four days. Traveling nearly 1,800 km across six states to evade arrest. He left Maharashtra on April 25, initially heading to Goa, then continuing through Karnataka and reaching Hubballi city. From there, he traveled to Hyderabad in a private car. To avoid detection, Khan dressed in plain clothing and concealed his identity by wrapping a scarf around his face.

However, police were able to track his location in Hyderabad, prompting Khan to flee towards Chhattisgarh. He even attempted to travel through the Naxalite area in Chhattisgarh. But his driver refused to drive through this route at night. Eventually, the police found Khan staying at the Hotel Aaradhya International in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, where he was apprehended. During the arrest, the police seized two mobile phones and some cash from Khan.
Khan’s arrest came after the Bombay High Court rejected his anticipatory bail application last Wednesday. He is accused of being involved in the Mahadev Betting App case, which is suspected of facilitating illegal gambling and transactions. The police claim that Khan had connections with one of these betting apps. Following his arrest, he was remanded to police custody until May 1 for further investigation.
The case has attracted significant attention due to Sahil Khan’s celebrity status as an actor and social media influencer. His arrest is part of a broader investigation by the Mumbai cyber cell’s Special Investigating Team (SIT) into the Mahadev Betting App and its illegal activities.
