Mamata Criticizes BJP ‘s ‘Propaganda’ Following Arrest of Bengaluru Cafe Blast Suspects

Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP’s assertions regarding Bengal’s safety in the aftermath of the arrest of two suspects in the Bengaluru Rameswaram Cafe blast case.

Emphasizing that the state police swiftly apprehended the suspects within two hours of their presence in Bengal, Banerjee questioned the safety standards of other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Bihar.

The BJP, however, criticized the Banerjee government following the National Investigation Agency’s arrest of the two suspects. Amit Malviya, BJP’s Bengal co-in-charge, labeled West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee as a “safe haven for terrorists” after the NIA detained the suspects in Kolkata.

In response, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh commended the West Bengal Police for their role in the arrests and urged state agencies to investigate any potential links between the suspects and certain families in Contai, a stronghold of BJP legislator Suvendu Adhikari.

Adhikari echoed BJP’s sentiments, asserting that the arrests reaffirmed West Bengal’s status as a sanctuary for “international terrorists.”

During an Eid-ul-Fitr gathering in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee strongly opposes CAA, NRC, and Uniform Civil Code, warning against divisive electoral strategies.
