Nag Ashwin recently revealed the unconventional yet scientific method behind the decision to split ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ into two parts. He said, “We chose a scientific and rational method to make Kalki into two parts.” Surprisingly, this massive decision involving hundreds of crores was made through playing chits, as Ashwin showcased a photo of a chit with ‘2’ written on it. This unexpected approach has amused many, highlighting Ashwin’s unique personality.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has turned out to be a blockbuster, effortlessly crossing the 1000 crore mark. Its successful run continues, surpassing the box office performance of the recently released pan-Indian film ‘Indian 2’. Even in its third week, the film is receiving great reception from the audience, grossing over 275 crores in the Hindi market alone and overtaking the lifetime Hindi collections of ‘RRR’. The film’s grand canvas and Nag Ashwin’s vision, paired with stellar performances, have significantly impressed audiences.

Ashwini Dutt spent over 600 crores on the production, with Santosh Narayanan providing the music. Nag Ashwin revealed that around 60% of the story remains to be told in the second part, promising more drama and action. Prabhas stars as Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Kamal Haasan as the main villain Supreme Yashkin, and Deepika Padukone as Sumathi.
