Naga Vamsi Confirms Jr NTR’s Prominent Role in War 2, Dismisses Cameo Rumors
Putting an end to ongoing speculation, producer Naga Vamsi has officially confirmed that Jr NTR will play a full-fledged role in the much-anticipated action film War 2, and not just make a cameo appearance. Ever since the actor’s inclusion in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe was announced. Fans have been eager to know the extent of his role, especially after the teaser sparked debates online.
In an interview with a well-known portal, Vamsi addressed the rumours head-on. “It’s not true that NTR appears only for 30-40 minutes. He enters the story after the first 15 minutes and is present throughout the film alongside Hrithik Roshan. They even have a dance number together. It’s a full-on commercial entertainer,” he assured.

Vamsi’s banner, Sitara Entertainments, has reportedly acquired the Telugu distribution rights of War 2 for a massive ₹80 crore. Speaking about the investment, he said, “I purchased the rights because the film is packed with commercial elements. Even I’m looking forward to watching how it all unfolds, just like the audience. My decision is rooted in the trust I have in NTR’s choices.”
A close collaborator of Jr NTR, Vamsi is also producing the actor’s upcoming mythological film with Trivikram Srinivas, said to be inspired by the legend of Lord Karthikeya.
Meanwhile, War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, features Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in lead roles, with Kiara Advani joining the cast. Spanning five countries and featuring six grand action sequences, the film is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
