Pawan Kalyan Makes Rare Appearance at First Press Meet for Hari Hara Veera Mallu
Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan stepped into unfamiliar territory on Monday by attending his first-ever press conference for a film. Speaking at the event in Hyderabad ahead of the release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The actor candidly admitted that promoting his own work isn’t something he’s comfortable with. “This is my first press meet for a movie. It’s not because of arrogance that I usually skip such events—I simply don’t know how to promote myself,” he said.
Pawan revealed that his decision to participate in the event was purely out of respect and gratitude toward producer A. M. Ratnam. “I am here because of Ratnam garu. He stood by this film through every challenge—delays, financial hurdles, and even team changes. He never once complained, and I felt it was important to stand by him,” he added.
The journey of Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been far from smooth. The film experienced multiple setbacks, from pandemic disruptions to budget constraints. Director Krish, who originally helmed the project, had to step away due to personal reasons, with Jyothi Krishna eventually taking over.
Pawan reflected on the effort that went into completing the film, mentioning how the climax alone took 57 days to shoot under harsh summer conditions. “My martial arts training was really put to use here,” he noted.

Despite stepping back, Pawan extended his thanks to Krish for initiating the film and praised Jyothi Krishna for his perseverance and dedication in bringing it to completion.
Actress Nidhhi Agerwal expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Pawan, calling it a career-defining experience. “I’ll forever be thankful to A. M. Ratnam garu and the entire team,” she said.
Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, who joined the crew midway, highlighted the scale and emotional depth of the story. “The second half is particularly intense. It’s a journey-driven tale, almost like an epic adventure. Pawan sir gave it everything,” he shared.
Lyricist Rambabu, speaking about his collaboration, said it was an honor to write lyrics for a Pawan Kalyan film with music composed by M. M. Keeravani. “Keeravani garu’s music gave my words a new life,” he added.
Director Jyothi Krishna recalled working long hours recently to finalize a 20-minute action sequence designed by Pawan himself. “That fight scene speaks volumes—it’s not just action, it’s a battle for righteousness,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan also touched upon the unifying power of cinema. “Despite the differences in our society, cinema brings people together. It’s given me everything I have, and I’ll always hold it in the highest regard,” he said. Also appreciating co-actor Bobby Deol’s performance as Aurangzeb.
The much-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu, set in the 17th century, is slated to hit theatres on July 24.
