Prachi Nigam: UP Board Topper Shuts Down Trolls Criticizing Her Facial Hair
Prachi Nigam, the top scorer in this year’s Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 examinations with 98.5 percent marks. Has given a fitting response to those who have been trolling her for her facial hair. Addressing the issue for the first time, Prachi said, “Trollers can live with their mindset. I am happy that my success is now my identity.”
Prachi explained that her focus had always been on her studies. And neither her family, friends, nor teachers ever criticized her for her appearance. “I never bothered about it either,” she said. It wasn’t until her photograph was published in the news following her stellar exam results that people began to comment on her facial hair, leading to the unwarranted trolling.

“My goal is to become an engineer, and what will ultimately matter are my marks. Not the hair on my face,” Prachi declared, reinforcing her commitment to academic success. Indian chess grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand lent his support to Prachi. Urging her to stay focused on her academic goals despite the negative comments.
Meanwhile, Professor R K Dhiman, director of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), announced that the institute would treat Prachi free of cost. “The endocrinology department will treat Prachi for hormonal issues that are responsible for facial hair growth, which are common among children between the ages of 8-16 years. It can be cured within months,” he explained.
Prachi’s response and the outpouring of support from prominent figures and institutions are a testament to her strength and determination, showing that success is defined by one’s achievements, not by outward appearance.
