Revanth Reddy Reminds Public: Osmania Hostels Were Closed During KCR’s Rule

Revanth Reddy, the Congress party’s chief in Telangana, criticized former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for his misleading statements about the closure of Osmania University hostels during the summer vacation.

Reddy pointed out that the university’s chief warden had issued a similar notice in May 2023. Indicating that the hostels and mess would be closed from May 12 to June 5. Citing shortages of electricity and drinking water.

Reddy accused KCR of attempting to spread misinformation and mislead the public during recent meetings in Suryapet and Mahabubnagar. He said KCR was falsely implying that the closure of Osmania University hostels was a result of Congress’s mismanagement. While, in reality, it was a common practice during summer. Reddy compared KCR’s tactics to those of Joseph Goebbels, a notorious propagandist, suggesting that KCR’s distortions were intended to discredit Congress’s administration.

Reddy emphasized that the closure of the university hostels during summer was not unique to the Congress regime. He argued that KCR’s attempts to present the closures as a sign of Congress’s incompetence were disingenuous and indicative of how far KCR would go to undermine the opposition.

Despite KCR’s assertions, Revanth Reddy reiterated that the closure of the hostels had occurred even during KCR’s tenure as Chief Minister, further demonstrating the misleading nature of his claims. He stated that such accusations by KCR were an attempt to sway public opinion by presenting inaccurate information.
