It’s nearly impossible to imagine the blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rise without Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s stunning performance in the special item song. The on-screen chemistry between Allu Arjun and Samantha in “Oo Antava” was magical. However, there was a time when the Shaakuntalam actress was discouraged by her closest people from participating in the song. Yes, you read that correctly. In an interview, she confessed that her friends, family, and well-wishers advised her against being part of the dance number, especially because she had just announced her separation from Naga Chaitanya at that time.

She stunned everyone with her sizzling performance in the Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa: The Rise. She turned heads with her appearance in the special item song “Oo Antava” alongside Pushpa Raj. But many might not know that Samantha was urged by her closest friends and family not to take up the song.
Discussing this, the Kushi actress said, “When I was offered ‘Oo Antava,’ I was in the middle of the separation. Every friend of mine, my family, were like, ‘You sit at home. You will not do an item song just after you have announced your separation.’”
Despite the warnings, Samantha went ahead with the song, and the rest is history. She further explained her decision, saying, “Why should I hide it? I didn’t do anything wrong, gave my marriage 100 percent, but it didn’t work out. I was not going to beat myself up and feel guilty about something I didn’t do.”
