In an interview with Hindustan Times, she drew parallels between her character, Honey, and her personal life. The actress revealed that her connection to Honey goes beyond just professional similarities, reflecting her own journey, particularly in relation to her difficult relationship with her father.
Samantha candidly shared, “Oh my god! Should I? Can I? Well, for starters, I had a particularly difficult relationship with my father.” She explained how, like her character, she has faced numerous challenges but always found the strength to overcome them. Despite being diagnosed with myositis and going through a public separation from her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya, she has continued to thrive in her career, both in the South Indian film industry and pan-India.

This isn’t the first time Samantha has spoken about her relationship with her father. During an episode of Koffee with Karan, she reflected on how family dynamics shaped her career path. Samantha revealed that she didn’t initially aspire to be part of the film industry but was compelled to pursue acting due to financial hardships at home. She recounted how her father told her he wouldn’t be able to pay off her loans, leaving her with no choice but to enter films. “I didn’t have a choice actually because things were hard at home. We didn’t have much money to study further, but I’m really glad. When my father said, ‘No, I can’t pay your loans,’ that changed my life,” she shared.
On the work front, Samantha has several exciting projects lined up, including the film Bangaram.
