Sathyam Movie Director Surya Kiran passed away

Surya Kiran made his debut as a director with ‘Sathyam’ movie in 2003. He was a well-known filmmaker who was a child artist too. Took his last breath on Monday in Chennai. The reason for his death was declared as jaundice.

At 48, Surya Kiran was undergoing treatment at GEM Hospital in Chennai. His last movie as a director is ‘Arasi’ which will be released soon in theaters. And Varalakshmi Sarathkukar is said to be playing a major role in the movie.

‘Sathyam’ was his first film as a director, released in 2003. It did score a major hit at the box office and went very well with the audience. Sumanth Akkineni and Genelia D’Souza were the lead in the feature film.

His other directorial movies were, ‘Dhana 51’, ‘Brahmastram’, ‘Raju Bhai’ and ‘Chapter 6’.

As said, he was a child artist too and has acted in more than 200 films, in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. He also played a popular child artist role in the first 3D Malayalam movie ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’, a roaring hit.

He, however, made his debut as a child artist in the movie ‘Snehikkan Oru Pennu’ released in the year 1978.

Surya was also seen in Big Boss season 4 and has also acted in ‘Geetanjali’, ‘Padikkathavan’, and many more movies.

He had married South Indian actor Kaveri Kalyani but the two later got separated. His sister Sujitha is a noted South Indian actor.
