Shekhar Suman who played a key role in Heeramandi, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, finally talks about the trolls and criticism his co-star, Sharmin Segal is facing.
It is been quite sometime now since the much-awaited web show, Heeramandi was released. It would be true to say that, it has been talk of the town since then. Be it the songs, the plot, the cast, or the acting.
But one thing or one person is been talked both positively and negatively about her. She is Sharmin Segal, niece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She has received a lot of negativity and Shekhar Suman defends her.
Shekhar Suman in an interview spoke about the trolls and criticism Sharmin Segal has been receiving. She stated that the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not think of the effects of casting his niece into the film. Also added that she has done movies earlier too.

He stated, “What has happened is that the world has been too harsh on the poor little thing. She’s a young girl and the criticism can destroy her. People can go a little easy instead of calling her names where she was forced to disable her comments. She said she auditioned 16 times for Heeramandi, so let’s be fair to him, that he cast her.”
