Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell. In connection with an investigation into the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 matches. The summons is related to the Mahadev betting app case, where Bhatia is allegedly linked to promoting a subsidiary app associated with Mahadev. This development follows reports that connect veteran actor Sanjay Dutt to the same investigation.
According to ANI, Tamannaah Bhatia is expected to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on April 29 to answer questions about her involvement in promoting Fairplay, an app that illegally streamed IPL 2023 matches. The illicit streaming caused significant financial losses to Viacom18, the legitimate rights holder for IPL broadcast.
In a related report, Sanjay Dutt was also summoned for questioning on April 23 but did not attend. He requested a different date, stating he was not in India at the time of his original summons.

However, this unauthorized streaming violates Viacom18’s intellectual property rights, leading to a financial loss estimated at over Rs 100 crore.
The issue is further complicated by the involvement of the Enforcement Directorate, which has made several arrests as part of its ongoing investigation into the Mahadev betting app’s activities. This probe is said to encompass high-profile figures, including politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh.
