The “Baahubali” series, which featured a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Anushka Shetty, and Sathyaraj, has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions also marked the day by sharing a special video on social media, captioned, “A spectacle & magnum opus of cinema!” Dharma Productions was responsible for distributing the film in the Hindi-speaking regions.

In an interview with IANS, SS Rajamouli revealed that the character of Baahubali was written specifically for Prabhas. “We (Prabhas and I) worked on a film 10 years before this and we have been close friends. We would chat for hours and hours together deep into the night, not just about Baahubali, but different aspects of filmmaking, the philosophy of filmmaking,” he shared. Rajamouli added, “We strike a chord with each other, we understand each other very well and he knew that I had a burning desire to make a war film and he was game for it.”

The success of “Baahubali: The Beginning” paved the way for its sequel, “Baahubali: The Conclusion,” which was released in 2017.
