The Goat Life is to be released on OTT on this date!
After a record-breaking theatrical release, the highly acclaimed film “The Goat Life.”Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to make its digital debut. Directed by the renowned filmmaker Blessy, the movie emerged as one of 2024’s highest-grossing Indian films.
Netflix India recently announced on their social media that “The Goat Life” will be available for streaming starting July 19. The film will be accessible in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Netflix shared a poster featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in a rugged role, captioned. “Pradheekshayum porattavum niranja Najeebinde jeevitha katha. #Aadujeevitham is coming to Netflix on 19th July. In Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi! #AadujeevithamOnNetflix.”
Based on Benyamin’s bestselling 2008 novel, “The Goat Life” (Aadujeevitham) follows the harrowing journey of Najeeb. A Malayali immigrant laborer forced into slavery as a goatherd on a remote Saudi Arabian farm.

In an interview, Prithviraj discussed his approach to portraying Najeeb. He noted that he did not have the opportunity to interact with the real-life Najeeb (Shukoor) before taking on the role. Director Blessy, in an interview, explained that his discussions with the real Najeeb. Focused on emotional responses rather than detailed narratives. Blessy stated, “Because it was in that context and because the real Najeeb could not contribute too much in the conversation. What was done was based on the research on the character and how that character would have behaved, and not from the real Najeeb.”
Produced by Visual Romance, the film stars Amala Paul, K R Gokul. Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, and Arab actors Talib al Balushi and Rik Aby in significant roles. The movie’s music and sound design were crafted by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty, respectively.
“The Goat Life” premiered globally in theaters on March 28. And has since been celebrated for its compelling storytelling and powerful performances. Now, audiences worldwide can experience this gripping tale of survival and resilience from the comfort of their homes starting July 19 on Netflix.
