Varun Tej’s period action drama Matka is set to hit theaters in just four days. The film’s pre-release event was held in Vizag, with the cast and crew celebrating the occasion. Director Karuna Kumar shared his connection with Vizag. Describing how the city holds a special place in his life due to the significant experiences he has had there. He explained that Matka aims to capture a slice of Vizag’s history, depicting the city’s transformation over the years. He also noted similarities between Vizag and Mumbai, highlighting Vizag’s growth from a small town to a global hub. The story is a fictionalized account inspired by the lives of Vizag’s gangsters.
