Venkatesh Joins Campaign Trail After Varun Tej’s Support for Pawan Kalyan
Hot on the heels of Varun Tej’s campaigning for his uncle and superstar Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram. Veteran actor Venkatesh is poised to enter the political arena. The celebrated star is expected to campaign in Telangana’s upcoming Lok Sabha election. Offering his support to a close relative contesting for the Khammam seat.
Venkatesh’s elder daughter, Aashritha, has already thrown her hat into the political ring. Campaigning for her father-in-law, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, a Congress candidate running for the Khammam constituency. Aashritha, 34, urged voters to support her father-in-law at a recent campaign event. Saying, “Let’s vote on May 13 and get our Raghuram Reddy elected.” Venkatesh is set to join the campaign on May 7 to lend his star power to Raghuram Reddy’s efforts.
Aashritha is married to Vinayak Reddy, the son of Raghuram Reddy. Their wedding, held at the Jaipur Palace in 2019, was a high-profile event. Raghuram Reddy’s father, R Surender Reddy, has a rich political history, having served as a four-time Member of Parliament. Winning thrice from Warangal and once from Mahabubabad.
Venkatesh Joins Campaign Trail After Varun Tej’s Support for Pawan Kalyan
Venkatesh’s entry into the political fray, especially on behalf of the Congress party, has surprised many, given his typically cautious approach to politics. His involvement in the campaign adds an interesting dynamic to the ongoing election season.
The Daggubati family, to which Venkatesh belongs, has a deep-rooted legacy in both cinema and politics. The late Dr. D. Ramanaidu, a prominent figure in the film industry, had transitioned into politics, serving as an MP for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). However, the family’s political journey saw a setback with Dr. Ramanaidu’s loss in the 14th Lok Sabha elections, prompting a retreat from active political participation.
While Venkatesh gears up for his campaign, other prominent actors like Balakrishna and Pawan Kalyan are actively campaigning for their respective political alliances, with Balakrishna supporting the TDP-BJP candidates and Pawan Kalyan rallying for the Jana Sena alliance in Andhra Pradesh. The upcoming elections are shaping up to be a fascinating confluence of politics and cinema.
