War 2 Makes History as First Indian Film to Release in Dolby Cinema
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s highly awaited action thriller War 2 is all set to break new ground by becoming the first Indian film to release in Dolby Cinema in the country. Slated to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, the film will offer a visually rich and sonically immersive experience in both Hindi and Telugu. Redefining how audiences watch Indian films.
This cinematic milestone comes through a strategic partnership between Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Dolby Laboratories. Which brings War 2 to screens with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies. The collaboration marks a major leap in Indian film presentation, promising crystal-clear visuals and dynamic surround sound to elevate storytelling.

The film’s Dolby Cinema release isn’t limited to India. War 2 will also be showcased at Dolby-enabled theatres across North America, the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and more. Indian viewers will first witness the Dolby experience at City Pride Multiplexes, Kharadi, Pune, with additional screens coming soon in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Trichy, and Ulikkal.

Echoing the sentiment, Dolby’s VP Michael Archer called it a “milestone moment” for Indian film presentation, deepening Dolby’s collaboration with YRF. After pioneering Dolby Atmos music with their ‘Best of YRF’ album in 2020. YRF once again sets a benchmark with this movie, promising not just thrilling action, but a premium, unforgettable theatrical experience.
