Deve Gowda’s Grandson to Return to India for Investigation: Karnataka Home Minister
An investigation is underway into the alleged sex video scandal involving Prajwal Revanna. The grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda. Speaking to the press on Monday, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) would ask Prajwal Revanna to return to India for questioning. The probe is expected to be completed within 10 to 15 days, with a report submitted shortly thereafter.
According to Parameshwara, the SIT will operate under strict timelines to ensure the investigation does not drag on indefinitely. The team, led by senior IPS officer B.K. Singh, includes two women Superintendents of Police. This team was formed in response to a complaint lodged with the Karnataka State Commission for Women. And it will handle the forensic analysis of the evidence, including pen drives containing alleged sex videos.
Parameshwara confirmed that the state government would not interfere with the SIT’s work, leaving it to the investigators to determine the facts and take appropriate action. He also mentioned that the SIT would call Prajwal Revanna back from overseas to assist with the investigation. The Home Minister added that JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna is also under investigation due to a separate sexual harassment complaint.

As the SIT proceeds with the investigation, security will be provided to complainants and victims if needed. Meanwhile, new information has emerged, with the SIT locating five victims and recording their statements. The victims, who include government officials and political figures, gave their testimonies to Superintendent of Police Seema Latkar.
The mother-in-law of one of the victims expressed skepticism about the allegations, suggesting that the complaint was aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Deve Gowda family. She claimed that her daughter-in-law was coerced into filing the complaint and that Prajwal Revanna’s mother, Bhavani, had been supportive of their family.
Despite these conflicting claims, the SIT is working to determine the truth and ensure justice is served. With the investigation gaining momentum, the authorities hope to conclude the matter quickly and take action against any individuals found guilty.
