Filmfare Awards: RRR wins, Sita-Ramam wins 5

The Filmfare Awards for Telugu films released in 2022 have been announced. As expected, RRR dominated, winning 7 awards. The film secured victories in major categories such as Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor in a Leading Role for N.T.R. Jr. and Ram Charan.

  • Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male): N.T.R. Jr., Ram Charan
  • Best Music Album: M. M. Keeravani
  • Best Playback Singer (Male): Kaala Bhairava (Komuram Bheemudo)
  • Best Choreography: Prem Rakshith (Naatu Naatu)
  • Best Production Design: Sabu Cyril

Hanu Raghavapudi’s directorial Sita Ramam also performed well, winning five awards, including two in the Critics’ Choice categories. Dulquer Salmaan was awarded Best Actor (Critics’ Choice) and Mrunal Thakur won Best Actress in a Leading Role (Female).

Virata Parvam, starring Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi, won two awards. Sai Pallavi received the Best Actress (Critics’ Choice) award, while Nandita Das was recognized for her supporting role.

Bheemla Nayak, the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum, won a Filmfare award for Rana Daggubati in the Best Supporting Actor (Male) category for his role as Daniel Shekhar.
