K. Kavitha, an MLC from BRS, who was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi liquor excise policy, petitioned the Rouse Avenue court for interim bail citing the necessity to prepare her children for their annual examinations. The court listened to arguments presented by both legal representatives and adjourned the proceedings to April 4 for further deliberations.

During the hearing, Kavitha’s counsel contended that the ED’s investigation into the matter was motivated and lacked substantial evidence. Additionally, they emphasized Kavitha’s upstanding reputation in society, asserting that she should not be equated with a criminal or a gangster.
On the other hand, the ED’s counsel argued that Kavitha played a significant role in the Delhi excise policy case. And emphasized the necessity for further investigation. They raised objections against granting bail to her.
