One of the most memorable moments in Kalki 2898 AD is when Deepika Padukone’s character, Sumathi, navigates a dangerous tunnel of fire to escape the clutches of Complex. Director Ashwin noted that this scene stood out for its technical challenges and the powerful performance it demanded.
“Deepika was amazing in the tunnel walk scene. It was tough to film, but she did it so gracefully and with a lot of emotion, which made it one of my favorite parts of the movie, even though we wrapped it in a short time. I told Deepika that it would be iconic,” Ashwin explained.
