Nitin Gadkari Faints Due to Heat During Campaign Rally in Maharashtra

Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari fainted while speaking at an election rally in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district. The incident occurred during his campaign in Pusad, which falls under the Yavatmal-Washim Lok Sabha constituency.

Security personnel quickly assisted Gadkari off-stage when he experienced a fainting spell. However, he recovered after a few minutes and returned to complete his speech. Following the rally, Gadkari shared a health update on X, mentioning that he felt faint due to the heat but was otherwise fine and en route to his next rally in Warud.

“Felt uneasy due to heat at a rally at Pusad, Maharashtra. But now I am completely alright and on my way to Warud to take part in the next rally,” the 66-year-old minister posted on X.

Gadkari, who represents the Nagpur seat, is BJP’s candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The first phase of voting in Nagpur occurred on April 19.

This wasn’t the first time Gadkari experienced such an episode. In 2018, he fainted during a public event in Maharashtra, citing “suffocation” due to the convocation robes he was wearing at an agricultural university’s event in Ahmednagar district. Gadkari later clarified that he felt unwell because the venue was air-tight, and the robes restricted oxygen, but he assured that he had no long-term health concerns.

At the time, he also mentioned on X that he had low sugar, stating, “Had slight medical condition due to low sugar. I have been attended by doctors and I am doing well now. I thank all of you for all the well wishes.” Despite these incidents, Gadkari continues to campaign and engage in public events, remaining active in his political role.
