The 97th Oscar nominations were announced in Los Angeles, and the musical crime drama Emilia Pérez leads the pack with an impressive 13 nods. Predictions suggest the film is likely to win in at least three to four categories. Making history, Karla Sofía Gascón became the first transgender performer to earn a nomination for Best Actress.
India’s only nomination this year comes from Anuja, a short film produced by Priyanka Chopra, which has been nominated in the Best Live-Action Short Film category.
