SRH vs LSG: Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s 45-Minute Blitz Leads Sunrisers Hyderabad to 10-Wicket Win Over Lucknow Super Giants
Travis Head scored a quick-fire 89 off just 30 balls, while Abhishek Sharma smashed 75 off 28 balls to help Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 10 wickets with 62 deliveries to spare in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Wednesday.
The match was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. With this victory, SRH climbed to the third spot in the points table with 14 points from 12 games, while LSG remained in sixth spot with 12 points from the same number of matches.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set up the win for SRH by scoring a mammoth 107 runs in the Power Play. They batted with real aggression and didn’t spare any LSG bowlers. They hit sixes and fours all over the ground and took the game away from LSG in the early overs itself.

LSG had earlier scored 165/4 in their 20 overs, thanks to Ayush Badoni’s unbeaten 55 off 28 balls and Nicholas Pooran’s 48 off 26 balls. They shared a 99-run partnership for the fifth wicket, which was the highest for LSG. However, their efforts were not enough as SRH chased down the target in just 9.4 overs.
The match started with Bhuvneshwar Kumar taking two early wickets to put LSG on the back foot. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, the debutant leg-spinner, bowled well in his first over and gave only three runs. LSG struggled during the Power Play and could only manage 27 runs.
Skipper KL Rahul played a patient knock but couldn’t accelerate the innings. Krunal Pandya showed some intent by hitting back-to-back sixes off Jaydev Unadkat, but he too couldn’t convert his start into a big score.
In the end, SRH won the match with ease and gave themselves a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
