Now, five years after the film’s debut, a never-seen-before picture of the two actors from the set has surfaced online, captivating netizens. In the photo, Vijay and Rashmika are seen gazing into each other’s eyes while holding hands. Vijay looks charming in a white shirt, while Rashmika stuns in a blue saree.
Rumors about Vijay and Rashmika’s off-screen relationship have been circulating for a long time. In April this year, they reportedly celebrated Rashmika Mandanna’s birthday together in Abu Dhabi. Although neither confirmed the vacation, fans noticed that Vijay shared a video on his Instagram stories from the same location where Rashmika had also posted pictures.

Previously, their trip to the Maldives sparked further speculation about a potential marriage announcement. However, Vijay later clarified that he was neither getting engaged nor married. “I’m not getting engaged or married in February. It feels like the press just wants to get me married every two years. I hear this rumor every year. They’re just walking around waiting to catch me and get me married,” he told Lifestyle Asia.
During promotions for Family Star, Vijay was asked about his “romantic relationships.” He chose not to address the dating rumors with Rashmika directly, instead saying, “Yes, with my parents, with my brother, with you, and we all are in a relationship.”
In addition to Dear Comrade, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda also shared the screen in the 2018 film Geetha Govindam.
