Janhvi Kapoor recently revealed that she was once fired from a film and replaced by her contemporary, Sara Ali Khan. Despite sharing a warm friendship, this behind-the-scenes incident was not widely known. Janhvi, currently promoting her film Mr & Mrs Mahi, discussed this experience in a promotional interview.
During an interview with The Lallantop, Janhvi was asked about being fired from a film for prematurely discussing her involvement. She confirmed that someone else had completed the film, which has since been released. When asked if it was Sara Ali Khan who took her place, Janhvi affirmed it.

Reports from 2018 suggested that Janhvi was originally cast in Simmba but confirmed Sara Ali Khan. According to a Mumbai Mirror article, Janhvi was removed from the project after she mentioned working with Ranveer Singh, despite being contractually forbidden to disclose this information.
Simmba was released in the same month as Sara Ali Khan’s debut Kedarnath in 2018. Just a few months before that, Janhvi had made her debut with Dhadak, also produced by Dharma Productions.
Mr & Mrs Mahi is Janhvi’s first release of the year. She will next be seen in the Hindi film Ulajh and the Telugu film Devara.
