LS poll counting in Telangana!
Counting in the state would begin at 8 am at 34 centers. Officials said that all the necessary arrangements are in place to count the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana State. Also 10,000 personnel were set up to take part in the exercise.
Counting postal ballots would be done in separate halls and counting EVMs would start at 8 am today. A three-layer security is in place and central forces by 12 companies have been deployed for the protection.
Vote counting for the by-election in the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency will begin at 8 AM on June 4. Polling for the 17 Lok Sabha seats and the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly by-election occurred on May 13.
Telangana recorded a 66.3 percent voter turnout for the Lok Sabha polls, with the main contest between the ruling Congress, the BRS, and the BJP. In the 2019 elections, the BRS won nine seats, the BJP four, the Congress three, and AIMIM one.
Prominent BJP candidates include Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and sitting MPs Bandi Sanjay and D. Arvind. Key contenders from Congress include former union minister Balram Naik, from BRS former IPS officer R. S. Praveen Kumar, and AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Telangana Chief Minister and TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy held a teleconference on Monday with the party’s candidates, providing them with necessary instructions about the counting process. According to Congress party sources, Revanth Reddy advised the candidates to appoint diligent counting agents at the centers.
The by-election for the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency was necessitated by the death of sitting BRS MLA G. Lasya Nanditha in a road accident earlier this year.
During the campaign for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, 8,600 FIRs were filed for Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations, according to data from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. Law enforcement agencies seized Rs 320.84 crore worth of cash, freebies, and other articles by May 11.
On May 1, the Election Commission reprimanded Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours for his “objectionable” remarks against the Congress made at a press conference in Sircilla on April 5, which violated the MCC provisions and advisories.
A case was registered against BJP candidate for Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat K. Madhavi Latha on May 13 after a video surfaced showing her purportedly asking burqa-clad women voters to reveal their faces and check their ID cards. Earlier, on April 20, an FIR was filed against Madhavi Latha following a complaint that she hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community by making a gesture of shooting an arrow towards a mosque.
In May, Telangana police registered an FIR against BJP leader and Amravati MP Navneet Rana for her alleged comments that “a vote for Congress is a vote for Pakistan,” under sections related to poll code violations. A total of 2,342 complaints were received through C-Vigil, and 511 complaints were received through the 1950 call center.
