NTR’s War 2 Becomes India’s Most-Watched Film on OTT
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-anticipated spy thriller War 2 may not have created the expected fireworks at the box office, but it is now making waves in the digital space. The high-budget action entertainer, directed by Ayan Mukerji, premiered on Netflix on October 9 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages — and has since turned into a massive OTT success.
As per the latest Ormax Media report, War 2 has emerged as India’s most-watched film on streaming platforms for the week of October 6 to October 12. The film clocked an impressive 3.5 million views across languages, marking a strong comeback after its lukewarm theatrical performance.
Interestingly, even though Rajinikanth’s Coolie (Hindi version) also began streaming during the same week, War 2 comfortably dominated the digital charts, proving its strong recall value and appeal among audiences.

The film features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir, while Jr NTR joins the YRF Spy Universe in a powerful new avatar. Kiara Advani plays the leading lady, with veteran actors Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana adding depth to the narrative.
Helmed by Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, War 2 blends high-octane action with slick storytelling. The story, written by Aditya Chopra himself, further expands the studio’s ambitious spy franchise that connects films like Pathaan and Tiger 3.
With its OTT success, War 2 has found a second life, reaffirming that audience response can often shift dramatically once a film lands on digital platforms.
