Thug Life: Promotions Resume for Kamal Haasan’s Film After Delay, New Trailer and Audio Launch Dates Revealed

After a brief pause, the team behind Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan. Has officially resumed promotional activities, announcing fresh dates for the trailer release and audio launch. The much-anticipated gangster drama is slated to release in theatres on June 5, 2025.

The makers took to social media to share the update, stating. “In recent days, we paused our celebrations to stand in solidarity with the nation. We remain deeply grateful for the support, patience, and understanding of our audiences across the world. With renewed clarity and respect for the moment, we now resume the Thug Life journey.”

As per the revised schedule, the trailer will be unveiled on May 17, 2025, at 5 PM, followed by the audio launch on May 24, 2025. Which will feature a special live performance by music maestro AR Rahman.

Earlier, the audio launch had been postponed due to rising Indo-Pak tensions. The original date was set for May 16, 2025, but the team decided to delay the event in light of the sensitive circumstances.

Thug Life is a high-octane gangster saga, headlined by Kamal Haasan with Silambarasan TR playing a pivotal role. The film marks a highly anticipated collaboration between Haasan and legendary director Mani Ratnam, reuniting decades after their iconic film Nayakan.

The script is a joint effort by Ratnam and Haasan and features a powerhouse cast including Trisha Krishnan, Sanya Malhotra, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Rohit Saraf, among others.

The musical score is composed by AR Rahman, who already dropped the first track, “Jinguchaa,” to a positive response. Ravi K Chandran is behind the camera, while Sreekar Prasad takes charge of editing.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is also working on another major project, tentatively titled KH237, directed by the action choreographer duo AnbAriv.
