Amitabh Bachchan Proud to Be Part of Telugu Cinema

At the ANR National Award ceremony on October 28, 2024, Amitabh Bachchan shared his pride in becoming part of the Telugu film industry. He attended the event alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi, who was being honored with the prestigious award. Presenting the award to Chiranjeevi, Bachchan expressed his gratitude and joy, saying, “I am now proud to say that I am part of the Telugu film industry. Thank you, Chiranjeevi, for your friendship, concern, love, affection, humility, and hospitality. Please treat me as a member of the Telugu film industry from now on.”

He went on to say, “I hope that all these fine gentlemen who have given me a small part in their films like Nag (Nagarjuna Akkineni), Chiranjeevi, and Nag Aswin, don’t forget to take me in your film next time. Thank you so much.”

Amitabh Bachchan previously worked with Chiranjeevi in the 2019 film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, directed by Surender Reddy. Recently, he played a significant role in Nag Aswin’s Kalki 2898 AD, sharing the screen with stars like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, further cementing his connection with Telugu cinema.

The ANR National Award ceremony saw several prominent Telugu actors gathering to celebrate Chiranjeevi’s honor. Chiranjeevi paid tribute to Bachchan during the event by touching his feet, calling him both an inspiration and mentor.

In recent projects, Amitabh Bachchan starred in Vettaiyan, an action drama featuring Rajinikanth and directed by TJ Gnanavel. This film marked Big B’s entry into Tamil cinema, reuniting him with Rajinikanth on-screen after 33 years. Vettaiyan follows the investigation of a young woman’s murder, with an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Rohini.
