Baahubali: Crown of Blood – The Concept of Kattappa Battling Baahubali Was Intriguing

The animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 17 May. It is based on the popular ‘Baahubali’ films directed by SS Rajamouli. The director believes that the idea of Kattappa fighting against Baahubali was a unique concept. Rajamouli, along with Sharad Devarajan and Shobu Yarlagadda. Has produced the animated series, which is directed by Jeevan J Kang and Navin John.

‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ is set in the world of Mahishmati. Where two rivals, Baahubali and Bhallaladeva, join forces to protect their kingdom against the Kalakeya tribe. The series promises stunning animation, rich characters, and a compelling narrative suitable for all age groups.

During a press conference in Hyderabad, Rajamouli explained how the animation industry has great potential if the right stories are told. He said that for a long time, it was thought that animation was only meant for children. But the popularity of Japanese animation shows in Hyderabad suggests that entertainment doesn’t necessarily have to come only in the form of films. He added that storytelling mediums such as gaming, books, novels, and comics are equally important.

When asked about the criticism he received regarding the balance of roles in his upcoming movie ‘RRR,’ Rajamouli refused to comment, stating that it wasn’t the appropriate time or place. Fans of the movie felt that Jr NTR’s role was not as strong as compared to Ram Charan’s.

Rajamouli also revealed that ‘Baahubali 3’ is on the cards, and he is currently discussing it with Prabhas. He planned to make the movie after ‘RRR,’ but it got delayed due to some reason.

Sharad Devarajan, co-creator and writer-producer of ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood,’ said that bringing the animated series to life has been an incredible journey for the team. He stated that collaborating with visionary filmmaker Rajamouli has been an honour. The team is eagerly waiting to entertain audiences on Disney+ Hotstar and revolutionize Indian animation.

Actor Sharad Kelkar, who lent his voice to the character of Baahubali in the animated series, also expressed his excitement about the series. He said that working on this animated series has been very special to him. He added that the series will elevate the franchise for both fans and viewers, and he can’t wait for it to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar this May.
