Spirit Shoot Extended: Prabhas Film Drops New Year Break

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is leaving no stone unturned to accelerate the production of Spirit. His much-anticipated cop action drama starring Prabhas, Triptii Dimri, and Vivek Oberoi. In a significant change to the original plan, the filmmaker has reportedly scrapped the New Year break to continue filming into early January, aiming to advance the film’s release timeline.

Earlier reports suggested that the first schedule of Spirit would wrap up by the end of December. Followed by a short New Year pause. However, sources now reveal that Vanga has revised the schedule to maintain momentum. The decision is said to be driven by his intention to bring the film to theatres by mid-2027, instead of the initially planned December 2027 release.

A source close to the production shared that filming began on November 27 in Hyderabad and will now continue uninterrupted until the first week of January. “The team is fully committed to completing crucial portions of the shoot. The planned New Year break has been officially cancelled to fast-track production,” the source revealed.

Spirit marks Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s first collaboration with Prabhas and Vivek Oberoi, adding to the buzz surrounding the project. Insiders suggest that Vanga has designed striking and unconventional looks for both the protagonist and the antagonist. While Prabhas is set to appear in a never-seen-before avatar as a fierce police officer. Vivek Oberoi’s role is also expected to surprise audiences.

“Just like Animal redefined Bobby Deol’s screen image. Spirit will present Vivek Oberoi in an entirely new and intense form,” an insider added.

With an ambitious schedule, a powerful cast, and Vanga’s signature storytelling, Spirit is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of the coming years.
