Sundeep Kishan Addresses Food Safety Raid at His Hyderabad Restaurant
Sundeep Kishan, currently seen in Dhanush’s Raayan, which was released on July 26, has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his restaurant in Hyderabad. He clarified that the Food Safety Department’s inspection was merely a routine check.
Sundeep Kishan spoke about the charitable activities of his restaurant, Vivaha Bhojanambu, which donates around 50 food packets daily from each of its seven outlets. “From each of the seven outlets of Vivaha Bhojanambu, we donate nearly 50 food packets every day. That makes 350 free food packets daily. Even if it costs us ₹50 per packet, that amounts to more than ₹4 lakh in donations each month. When we are donating ₹4 lakhs worth of food, why would we indulge in saving a rice packet that costs a few bucks?” he questioned.
Sundeep Kishan Responds to Food Safety Department Accusations
He emphasized that there is no reason for his restaurant to engage in fraudulent activities involving rice bags. As they donate much more than the cost of those rice bags through their outlets.
Sundeep mentioned that his restaurant experienced higher billing than usual after the raid. Suggesting that the food joint’s reputation remains intact and that people still trust the quality of food offered.
The controversy began when Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety Department found Vivaha Bhojanambu flouting multiple safety rules. Approximately 25 kilograms of Chitti Muthyalu rice were discarded because it was past its best-before date (2022). Additionally, 500 grams of grated coconut were discarded due to the presence of synthetic food colors.
“We as Team #VivahaBhojanambu have built a loyal clientele over 8 years with our food and sincerity. We would never take your love for granted,” he added.
